Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement April 2022

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which exploit someone else for the purpose of personal or commercial gain.

Snozone has zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking. Snozone supports and respects the principles proclaimed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

This Modern Slavery statement outlines Snozone’s standards to ensure that all our employees are treated with respect and dignity, are working under their own free will, and are being properly compensated for their efforts. To date, we have had no reports to the contrary within our business nor our supply chain.

Our business

Snozone operates snow sports centres in Madrid, Yorkshire, Milton Keynes and Skizone Basingstoke, providing outstanding skiing and snowboarding activities, sledging, conferencing and holiday clubs for children.  We've been operating since the year 2000 and have taught over 4 million guests of all ages to ski or snowboard.

We are committed to a workforce that is free of harassment and unlawful discrimination, including race, colour, religion, national origin, gender (including pregnancy), age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, HIV status, marital status or any other status protected by the laws or regulations in the locations where we operate.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or our supply chain. Our policies reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls, such as Whistleblowing, to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere.

Our supply chain

Our supply chain includes suppliers of utilities, equipment, maintenance provisions, clothing, food and beverages, lighting, legal and insurance services. We internally review our supply chain to evaluate risks and review aspects including but not limited to; safety, human trafficking, child labour and other legal requirements to ensure compliance with legislative requirements. Snozone only works and engages with suppliers and partners who can demonstrate by production of or visibility to their Modern Slavery Act statement, their commitment to operate comprehensively within the guidelines of the Modern Slavery Act. Otherwise, we do not contract with them nor utilise their services.

Our due diligence & risk management
Based on our continual internal risk assessment and standards review, we consider that the risk of any slavery or human trafficking in the employment of our employees remains very low. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that we believe promote a positive culture and a code of behaviour fully in keeping with the Act’s objectives.
